The MARSEA program accepts applications for the B.A./M.A. option, which is available only to current Columbia undergraduates (enrolled at Columbia College, the School of Engineering and Applied Science, the School of General Studies, or Barnard College), who want to add an M.A. degree to their achievements at Columbia University. Students interested in the B.A./M.A. option should contact the MARSEA Academic Director, Kim Brandt ([email protected]), and Program Coordinator, Lin King ([email protected]), to determine an appropriate selection of graduate courses during their remaining undergraduate semesters.
What is the B.A./M.A. Option?
Columbia University allows students interested in a Master’s degree to begin studies towards that degree while still enrolled as undergraduates. The B.A./M.A. option can save undergraduate students time and money as they move into graduate school. Only graduate-level courses taken in excess of the 124-credit requirement for the Columbia or Barnard bachelor’s degree can be applied to the MARSEA degree.
